Global Warning!

AXA, a leading insurance company is concerned by the impact of climate change/global warming on its business and wanted to know the individual perception of climate change by the large public. They sponsored the first global opinion survey which was implemented by IPSOS in 13 countries and 3 continents: France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, UK, USA, Mexico, Japan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Turkey. 13,000 representative people (1000 per country) were surveyed. My comments in the few following lines.

Livelihoods at the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, Bucharest, July 2012

Ramsar_COP_prLL.pngRepresentatives of Livelihoods were invited to share the experience of the Livelihoods Fund and Livelihoods Network with the participants of the 11th Conference of Parties on Wetlands that is taking place in Bucharest.

Ramsar is an International Convention with 160 members countries under the auspices of the United Nations. Its mission is to promote the preservation of wetlands throughout the world and sensibilise all public and private stakeholders of their importance for water filtration, biodiversity, resources for human beings.

Project Livelihoods/ Naandi was an opportunity for some Livelihoods partners to discover and appreciate the extent of the work done on the land by local community. Danone was represented by its Executive Vice President Human Resources and chair of the Board of its Ecosystem Fund  and Credit Agricole by Stanislas Pottier, Head of Sustainable Development.
